Tony G.

Tony was born into a family of musicians, so music has always been at the center of his life. When he was four years old, his parents got a piano, and he immediately began playing songs by ear. By the time he was seven, he was already playing regularly for audiences at school and church. Tony continued to study classical music all throughout his school years, participating in competitions, and completed his Bachelor of Science in Piano Performance and Composition at Stetson University before going on to earn his Master's of Music degree in Church Music.

Tony began teaching music while he was still in college, and he now has more than 30 years of experience with teaching piano students and 20 years of experience with teaching voice students. Tony has enjoyed helping beginner through advanced students develop their abilities and learn to play and sing the music they love with style. Whether classical, pop, gospel, blues or jazz, Tony loves helping students develop skills in music reading, ear training, and mechanics that they can apply to any song. His lessons are always upbeat and energetic, and he has a unique integrated style of teaching. He also regularly offers training to other teachers in optimizing the learning styles of students. Tony has led piano and voice students in stage performances through solos, musicals, and student bands. Since 2020, Tony has focused primarily on teaching and typically maintains a student load of 50 students weekly.

Tony also began writing music at a young age and has continued to spend time developing his own style and arrangements of popular music, while performing professionally and playing in bands. Tony himself has recorded several piano albums that have combined his love for pop music with his classical skills and training. Tony is happy to incorporate songwriting instruction into lesson curriculum if his students desire.

Now a Pop Pop, Tony is excited about helping his grandkids learn to play. He is still a kid at heart and loves working with students of all ages! Tony's ultimate desire is for every student to be inspired creatively and to love music more because of his time spent with them, as he helps them master skills that they can use for the rest of their lives.
