Owen C.

Owen is a talented flute and piccolo teacher in the Philadelphia area. He began playing flute in elementary school and quickly fell in love with the instrument. During his childhood, Owen played with the Philadelphia Young Artists Orchestra, the Young Peoples Philharmonic in Bethlehem, PA, and the Allentown Symphony.

Owen earned a full performing arts scholarship to attend Rowan University. During his time there, he studied with Adeline Tomasone, principal flutist of the Philadelphia Opera Orchestra. He also won the Rowan University Concerto Competition, performed at the National Flute Convention in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and studied at Domaine Forget in Quebec, Canada. Owen began teaching in 2008, and he graduated with his Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance in 2010.

He then pursued his Master's degree at Temple University, where he taught lessons to students with limited financial means as a part of the Community Music Scholars Program. There, he studied under David Cramer, associate principal flutist of the Philadelphia Orchestra. In 2011, Owen had the pleasure to perform at Carnegie Hall with his colleagues. He completed his Master of Music in Music Performance in 2012.

Owen now has over 15 years of experience as an instructor and he enjoys teaching his private flute and piccolo students. He meets his students where they are and makes a plan to help them see progess. He enjoys helping his students reach their goals, whether that includes making their first sound on their instrument or getting into the music program of their choice.
