Tony's Musical Journey
Tony has been playing violin since 2013. One day, while in his chorus class, they watched a film about a young boy who originally played piano but switched to violin because that was his true passion. That film was a life-changer for Tony.
Throughout his high school career, Tony took lessons in violin and viola from some renowned teachers. Tony had numerous amounts of out-of-school opportunities such as performing at the Woodruff Arts Center with the Ludwig String Orchestra, Fulton County Youth Orchestra, Northside Hospital, and at Walt Disney World where he was granted an opportunity to record an excerpt for the hit film Frozen. Tony then attended college at the Art Institute of Atlanta where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film.
Tony was inspired to teach by watching his mother teach music when he was a kid. He starts by teaching his students the basics while going over songs from different genres to show that their instrument is a classical one, but can be used for almost any genre of music. He aims to teach his students how to express themselves and their emotions through music while also understanding the importance of classical music and its foundations. Tony is well-rounded in his own genre and style interests; his favorite genres to play are movie theme songs, jazz, and R&B, though he also enjoys classical favorites, including Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos, Tchaikovsky, and music from the Baroque era. Tony loves introducing music to his students in a fun and energetic way. He believes that with hard work and patience, anything is achievable.
When he isn't teaching, Tony currently performs at weddings, festivals, music venues, and more.
