Aisha Guthrie

Aisha Guthrie began classical piano at the age of 6. Through diligence and continued practicing, she rose to be a skilled pianist, using her talent both as a gateway to philanthropy and as a professional musician.

At the age of 13, she was the recipient of a prestigious scholarship through Converse Pre-College. She also played for the Dean of the college, earning high marks for her performance. By 15 years of age, she had already mastered such classics as the third movement of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, known to many critics to be one of Beethoven’s most fierce, fiery, and technically difficult pieces. She has also received continuous “superior” ratings with the NMFC music festival, working her way up until she was competing in the “highly advanced” ranking by the age of 17.

Even at a young age in high school, many families reached out to her in order to be given private lessons to better their children’s skills, rapidly advancing their technical proficiency. She also joined together with her peers form the Magnolia Ensemble, which reached out to retirement homes in order to give performances for their patrons. In her freshman year of college, she was offered a position as the professional pianist for Arcadia Methodist Church.

From Mozart’s Concerto no. 17 in G major to Chopin’s Grande Valse Brillante op. 18, Aisha Guthrie continues to dazzle audiences with her stellar performances. She hopes to instill her love of music and piano in all of her students as they begin their musical debuts. She has also graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology and a second major in Spanish.
