Joshua-Paul Williams is a multi instrumentalist, composer, and audio engineer. Born in Maryland, he started learning music from a young age, picking up the electric guitar at the age of twelve, and studying with a renown international guitar artist.
After setting the guitar down for years, he decided to attend Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Ga for a BA degree in Mass Media Arts, with a concentration in Radio, Television, and Film in 2018. The same year he began to reignite his love for music, and started to produce electronic music alongside his peers. During his sophomore year of college, he decided to minor in music, however was denied by the music department due to him never being in band in high school, and not meeting prerequisites of specific music credits and teacher recommendations prior to enrolling in college. This ignited a flame in him.
That year he decided to prioritize his pursuit of learning the piano, an instrument he had dove into a little in the past. As the pandemic hit and he returned home from college for almost two years, having solely online classes, he had nothing but time to explore his instruments. His approach to learning the foundation of instruments through music theory and analysis helped him to make sense of it all, and teach himself what many music students miss out on. Returning to Atlanta for his senior year of college, he began to play in a church band as the keyboardist, then proceeded to play across the city.
Joshua is now finishing up his second degree in Audio Engineering at SAE institute Atlanta, where he learns extensively about the science of sound, and its delivery to consumers. At school he has access to high quality studios where he composes and mixes music, learning from audio and music professionals and a plethora of other talented young peers with similar goals in mind. His most meaningful project to date is composing and editing an audio memorial wall for The History Museum of Mobile Alabama.
Joshua has an extensive background in teaching children. He has been a math and english tutor for roughly a decade and has been teaching since the age of 14. He understands the individuality within students, and nurtures each deeply.
With his unique journey in mind, he intends to impart the gift of being able to create and play music onto anyone with open ears. He sees it as a journey of self expression and never ending learning, able to both enhance students lives, and create life just the same.
