Shyniya Lyles is a dedicated music educator with a passion for nurturing talent and instilling confidence in her students. Despite starting her musical journey later in life at the age of 17, Shyniya's determination and love for music propelled her to excel in her craft.
Her educational pursuits led her to Indiana Bible College (IBC), where she pursued a major in Worship Studies with a minor in music. During her time at IBC, Shyniya honed her skills in piano and voice, actively participating in various musical ensembles including small groups and a 200-person voice choir. After four years of dedicated study, she earned her Bachelor's degree in Worship Studies with a minor in music.
Continuing her commitment to musical excellence, Shyniya is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Music Education at the University of Nebraska, with an expected graduation in May 2025.
Shyniya's experience extends beyond academia, as she has been actively involved in numerous church worship services, showcasing her talents in singing and playing instruments such as piano, organ, and auxiliary keys. Additionally, she has shared her expertise by teaching beginner piano students and directing church choirs.
Driven by her love for both music and teaching, Shyniya embarked on her teaching journey during her sophomore year of college. Her innate passion for working with children and empowering young learners led her to specialize in piano instruction, with occasional vocal lessons for beginners. She believes in igniting a spark of passion within her students and guiding them towards realizing their full potential.
In her teaching philosophy, Shyniya emphasizes the importance of personalized instruction tailored to each student's unique needs and learning style, while maintaining a structured approach to lessons. She encourages her students to embrace their weaknesses as opportunities for growth and self-discovery.
Ultimately, Shyniya's goal is to inspire and empower her students to pursue their musical aspirations with confidence, while instilling in them a deep appreciation for the transformative power of music.
