Deion Williams is a skilled music producer and accomplished cellist with a degree in Commercial Composition from Clark University. His journey in music has been shaped by a deep passion for creating and shaping sound, allowing him to explore various genres and styles. From 2019 to 2023, Deion served as the First Chair Cellist for the Clark Atlanta University Orchestra in Atlanta, GA, where he led the cello section, ensuring musical cohesion and high-level performance. With over 15 years of formal training and performance experience in classical cello, he collaborated closely with the conductor and fellow musicians to deliver professional-level concerts. He represented the orchestra in solo performances and key events. Additionally, Deion performed in various ensembles and chamber orchestras throughout the Atlanta metropolitan area, contributing to a diverse repertoire and fostering collaboration among musicians.
In 2019, Deion also showcased his talents as a cellist for the film Underground Railroad, working alongside renowned director Barry Jenkins. In this role, he played cello in alignment with the film's score and adapted quickly to the production environment, meeting tight deadlines for scoring and performance. His ability to blend artistry with adaptability has made him a sought-after collaborator in both live and studio settings.
In addition to his production work, Deion enjoys sharing his love of music through teaching. He offers lessons in cello and piano, aiming to inspire his students to find their unique sound and express themselves through their instruments. Believing that music is a powerful form of communication, he takes pride in guiding aspiring musicians on their individual journeys, helping them build confidence and hone their skills. When he is not in the studio or teaching, Deion dedicates his time to developing new projects and exploring innovative ways to blend traditional and contemporary music to create a positive impact in the music community and nurture the next generation of musicians.
