Voice
Lovena Akins is a passionate music educator based in the Metro Atlanta area. A lifelong musician, Lovena began singing in the school choir at just nine years old and has been making music ever since. They earned their Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Kennesaw State University, graduating cum laude, with a primary focus in voice and additional training in piano.
Throughout their academic and professional journey, Lovena has been deeply involved in both performance and education. They performed in KSU's top auditioned ensemble, the Chamber Choir, and performed in community theater productions whenever possible. Their performance background also includes appearing on stage at the 2018 Shuler / Georgia High School Musical Theatre Awards.
Lovena specializes in classical voice, musical theater, and pop styles. They have taught and conducted choirs with students ranging in age and experience from elementary school to college. Their teaching philosophy is rooted in a love for music and a problem-solving mindset, with the goal of creating a safe, uplifting environment where students feel empowered to be vulnerable, take risks, and grow.
